As another year rolls by, and Scarletts Plant Care have settled into our new nursery in East Sussex. The "GROW YOUR OWN" boom has come at a time when organic growing is part of commercial practice and there is more and more demand for information about biological control.

At our nursery we are all firmly committed to grow healthy plants without the use of pesticides. It has been a steep learning curve for us, and every growing season we have had to deal with spider mite, aphids, slugs, whiteflies and caterpillars. We believe that this is all valuable experience we can pass onto our customers.

The news this year is that there is a new "Grow Your Own" Pack from Nemasys, which is designed to combat key vegetable pests like Carrot Fly, Cabbage Root Fly, Onion Fly, and cutworms. These packs are supplied as "multi-packs" so that you can apply a number of applications as a preventative measure.
