Gardening Gifts on-lineTesting your soil
Soil test kits are one of our most popular accessories and a great gift for the keen gardener or allotment holder. If you want to achieve the best results in growing vegetables or flowers then the plants need the right levels of acidity and nutrients in the soil. Keeping on top of this means that you need to know what the state of the soil is and how it changes year by year. The standard kit gives you full instructions and enough materials to let you check out the condition of a small garden. The mini professional kit has more raw materials and more technical information.. Propagation
A key skill for the advanced gardener is propagation. We offer you the Rootit! range of propagation equipment which includes propagation kits as shown, Root!t Gel, together with heat mats and lighting kits. Our propagation kit includes Root!t Gel which will get your cuttings off to a great start. In the cold months of the year you need extra warmth and light to get things growing, and seeds and cuttings will benefit from a heated propagator, with the option of a light kit. Wolf Tools
In our own gardening and nursery work we have been very impressed by the Wolf range of cultivation tools. Basically they're made in Germany from very robust Stainless Steel and come with interchangeable handles - so one handle will do a range of heads. We are offering you two selections for Christmas - a small tool set which comes with one handle and a trowel, hand fork and hand cultiweeder and a large tool set which comes with a 1.5 meter wooden handle and a rake, cultiweeder and double hoe heads. The small tool set is £36.96 while the large tool set is £61.96. As keen gardeners ourselves, we would be very happy to wake up on Christmas morning to find these in our stocking! Weather Stations and thermometers
Gardener's Microscopes
If you would like to see what the pests look like you may want to consider one of our Gardener's Microscopes. These handy little devices plug into your computer via a USB cable and let you see what's going on. You can use them simply to view or you can create stills or you can save little movies like these. These will help you identify the pest -either directly or by showing the images to an expert. We use one regularly in our nursery - which is where we took the videos to show you a real example of what you can expect to see.

One thing that's important to a serious gardener like you is keeping records of the temperature and other weather measurements. Our full range includes soil thermometers, digital maximum/minimum thermometers, wireless and full professional weatherstations. We include two products that people really liked last Christmas. They're really useful to people who monitor degree days as part of estimating when plants had finished vernalising or when they were liable to bolt.
Our final selection are self watering planters for those who want to grow some salad and tomato crops in confined spaces. We sell 2 products, the Earthbox and the Food Garden, both of which are clever in the way they allow you to go away for holiday in the Summer knowing that there's enough liquid to keep the plants in good health. You get more yield than gardening conventionally with less fertiliser, less water and virtually no effort - digging and weeding become a thing of the past.
